Privacy Policy
Shanghai Yaoying Medical Management Co., Ltd., trading as SinoUnited Health (“we,” “us,” “our”), is responsible for the personal information collected through cartcelltherapychina.com. This policy explains how we handle it.
Last updated: 10 August 2026
We are a healthcare provider based in Shanghai, China. This website is written for people outside China — most of the people who use it live in Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia, and some live elsewhere. This policy explains what happens to your information when you send it to us, including the fact that it travels outside your own country.
What we collect
Information you give us. This website has four ways to contact us.
- The general inquiry form collects your name, email address, country, the type of inquiry, and whatever you write in the message.
- The eligibility inquiry form collects your name, email address, country, the patient’s diagnosis, the approximate number of previous treatments, and your message.
- The assessment inquiry on our home page collects your name, email address, country, the patient’s diagnosis, the approximate number of previous treatments, and your message.
- The eligibility concierge, which you can open from any page, asks a short series of questions — whether you are the patient, a family member or a treating clinician, the patient’s diagnosis, the approximate number of previous treatments, and which country you would travel from. Your answers stay on your own device while you use it. They are sent to us only if you choose to enter your name and email address at the end and send them.
We ask for these details because we cannot answer a question about whether CAR T-cell therapy may be an option without them. Nothing on this website requires you to give us information about your health — you can contact us with a general question instead.
Diagnosis and treatment information is health information. It receives additional protection under Australian, New Zealand and Chinese law. We collect it only because you choose to send it, and only in order to answer your inquiry.
Please do not send medical records through this website. The forms do not accept file attachments. If we need your records in order to assess your inquiry, our international care team will explain how to send them when we reply.
Information collected automatically. Our web server records the IP address, browser type and time of each request, as standard server logs. This is a normal part of running a website and we do not use it to identify you. We also use Google Analytics, described under “Cookies and similar technologies” below.
If you are inquiring about someone else
Many inquiries come from a family member rather than the patient. If you give us information about another person — including their diagnosis and treatment history — please do so only if that person has agreed, or if you are entitled to act on their behalf.
We treat information about a patient the same way whether the patient sent it or you did. The person the information is about has the same rights over it as you have over your own, described under “Your rights” below.
Why we collect it
We use your information for two purposes only:
- to respond to your inquiry; and
- if you ask for one, to carry out a remote assessment of whether CAR T-cell therapy may be an option for the patient.
We do not use it for any other purpose. We do not use it for marketing unless you separately ask us to, and we do not sell it or give it to anyone else for their own purposes.
If you prefer not to tell us the diagnosis or the treatment history, you can still contact us with a general question — but we will not be able to assess whether CAR T-cell therapy may be an option without it.
Where your information is handled
When you send a form, your information is stored on a server in Hong Kong. It is then read and used by our international care team and by the clinicians assessing your inquiry, who are in Shanghai, mainland China.
This means your information leaves your own country in two steps, and this policy covers both.
Hong Kong and mainland China have different privacy laws, and both differ from the law in Australia, New Zealand and the other countries where people who use this website live. Once your information has left your own country:
- the privacy law of your own country may not apply to it in the same way;
- we are not required to protect it in a way that provides safeguards comparable to those in the Australian Privacy Act 1988 or the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020; and
- the ways you can enforce your rights over it may be different from those available to you at home.
Before you send a form, we ask you to confirm that you understand this and agree to it. This applies to the eligibility concierge in the same way as to the three forms.
Who can see it
Inquiries are received at internationalcare@suh.cn. They are read by our international care team, and by the hematology clinicians assessing the inquiry. Access is limited to those people.
How long we keep it
The copy of your inquiry held on this website’s server is automatically deleted 24 months after we receive it.
The copy sent to our care team in Shanghai is kept for as long as we may need it to answer you and to support any care that follows. If you become a patient at SinoUnited Health, it becomes part of your medical record and is then kept for as long as Chinese law requires medical records to be kept.
You can ask us to delete your information at any time — see “Your rights” below.
How it is protected
Information you send through this website is transmitted over an encrypted connection and held on a server in Hong Kong that is not publicly accessible. Submissions are stored outside the public area of the website and cannot be reached from the internet. Access is limited to the people described above. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. Write to us at the address at the end of this policy, or email internationalcare@suh.cn.
We will respond within 30 days. If you are in New Zealand, we will respond within 20 working days.
If you ask us to delete your information and we have already begun assessing an inquiry about a patient, we will tell you what we are able to delete and what we are required to keep.
Children and young people
CAR T-cell therapy at SinoUnited Health is available to patients aged 16 and over. This website is written for adults, and we do not knowingly collect information from a child through it.
An inquiry about a young person is normally made by a parent or guardian. If you are inquiring on someone else’s behalf, please read “If you are inquiring about someone else” above.
Cookies and similar technologies
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not allow anyone to track you across other websites from here.
We use Google Analytics to understand how this website is used — which pages people read, and how they arrive. It sets cookies and records your IP address, and that information is sent to Google and handled on Google’s systems outside your own country. We use it only to improve the website. We do not combine it with anything you send us through a form, and we do not record what you type into a form.
Our forms also use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a form is being filled in by a person rather than an automated system. It processes your IP address and basic information about your browser in order to do that, and may set a cookie that is necessary for the check. It does not track you across other websites and is not used for advertising.
When you first visit, we ask whether you agree to Google Analytics. Until you accept, it does not run and it sets no cookies. If you decline, we do not use it and we delete any Analytics cookies already stored on your device. You can change your answer at any time using the “Cookie choices” link at the bottom of any page.
Your browser can be set to refuse cookies. The website will still work if you do, although the forms may not.
Complaints
If you are concerned about how we have handled your information, please contact us first, using the details at the end of this policy. We would rather hear from you directly.
In Australia, if you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner — oaic.gov.au.
In New Zealand, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner — privacy.org.nz.
Elsewhere, you may be able to complain to the privacy regulator in your own country.
If you live outside Australia and New Zealand
This policy is written to meet Australian and New Zealand requirements, because that is where most of the people who use this website live. If you live somewhere else, the law of your own country may give you additional rights. Contact us and we will tell you how we can help.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
